How it all began

Kerfuffle and Swish

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

As young Lord Kerfuffle took his morning ramble around the vast family estate he glimpsed a vision of colour through the trees on the very edge of the land.

As he approached the vibrant young woman she quickly stood up and began to apologise for being on their estate.

Lord Kerfuffle waved away her apology and approached the easel on which she'd been working.

" That is beautiful", he said as he took in the stunning landscape coming to life on the canvas.

"Oh, thank you", she smiled, "I believe this might be my favourite place on Earth. It is so beautiful".

Lord Kerfuffle's eyes met hers, "Yes, truly beautiful", this time he was not talking about the landscape. "Lord Kerfuffle ", he said, offering her a hand. "Lady Swish", was her reply as she blushed and shook his hand.

"Oh my Goodness!!! Look!!!", Lady Swish was pointing into the distance where the brightest, boldest and most impressive rainbow either of them had ever seen had suddenly appeared across the now blanket of grey sky.

"That really is a corker!" said Lord Kerfuffle as Lady Swish quickly sat back down and began to add Rainbow colours to the canvas.

As the young couple stood and admired the finished painting, complete with the extraordinary Rainbow, they felt the   inevitable spots of rain.

Without thinking they grabbed each others hands and ran into the shelter of the trees. Once they had stopped they quickly let go and stood, slightly out of breath and more than a little embarrassed.

"I-I-I am sorry, I do not know what I was thinking"...

"No no, I'm sorry, I did not mean to"...

They stopped talking and looked at each other. Lord Kerfuffle suddenly felt as if he'd found something he hadn't been aware he was looking for.

Lady Swish looked into his eyes and knew that she wanted this moment to last an eternity.

As they kissed under the green canopy of the trees they both knew they would spend the rest of their lives together.  They walked hand in hand through the woods to where they had met to find the painting looking quite different since the rain shower.

"Oh Dear, your beautiful painting", Lord Kerfuffle said as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Actually Darling, I quite like it. In fact I love it!"

And so began a love story not only of the quirkiest Lord and Lady you could hope to meet but also of the colourful, the vibrant, the odd and the curious and often the downright bonkers...
