The Umbrella Stand was another item that had been in the family a fair few years. It had sat, in its original, embossed brass, condition, day in and day out, mostly ignored and just becoming a part of the background. One day, Lady Swish tasked herself with clearing out some pieces in the house that were just collecting dust. The stand had managed to accumulate eleven umbrellas, three walking sticks and a fly swat, all broken. As she pulled them out to throw them away she studied the front design and realised that instead of it becoming another piece of rubbish, she could instead, make it new and vibrant. She got out her paints and started to create a rainbow. Now it is no longer ignored, it is filled with useful and useable objects: working umbrellas, sturdy walking sticks and fly swats without the dead flies still attached. What’s not to like?!

We decided to give the boring brass of yesteryear a new lease of life with a striking Rainbow Ombre paint effect. This will definite be a talking point to grace anyone’s hallway. This piece has a painted wooden lining and a painted brass exterior.
