When Lady Swish was growing up, her mother was a seamstress and had an original dressmakers dummy. Despite her pleas, our young lady was never allowed to play with it, let alone what she really wanted to do – paint it!

By the time her mother no longer needed her dummy, it was tired, worn out, not suitable to be transformed and being mostly fabric based, it would not have lent itself easily to Swish’s style of decorating. One day Razzamatazz came home from a jazz gig with this metal modern style dummy. Knowing her mum’s memories of her grandmothers stuffed model, she took great delight in presenting it to Lady Swish with a flourish and declaring it ready to be painted and loved.

Swish needed no further encouragement and whisked it off to her workshop to be coloured, shaded and ‘swished’. Although it didn’t have the history of her mother’s dressmaking, it combined her memories with the colours she loved and became forever more ‘Lady On A Stick’.
